Slangle: free puzzle app game for iphone, ipad

iPhone Screenshot 2  iPhone Screenshot 3
Slangle comes from Benjamin Martinson. It's one of those sliding tile puzzles that are often described as a 2D version of Rubik's Cube. Basically, the objective is to move the rectangles to group the blue squares together and the same for the red squares etc.

If you've been following this blog, you'll know that I've done way too many puzzles like this and enough is enough!  However, Slangle is quite good. For one thing, some of the pieces are triangular and that's new.
Also, the shapes are quite nice.
There are 44 levels and 20 of them are free.  I did 20 free levels in about 20 minutes. I would have done them faster, but ads kept popping up.

Pathz: free puzzle app game for iphone, ipad

iPhone Screenshot 1  iPhone Screenshot 2
Roy Sadaka has created a very original set of puzzles called Pathz. I love everything about this game. Even when I'm stuck & think it's impossible.

Objective: get the orange square to orange star. Get the blue hexagon to the blue star. Note: the blue hexagon can only travel on blue tiles while the orange square can only travel on orange tiles.  When the orange square leaves an orange tile, that tile will turn blue, enabling the blue hexagon to then travel on it. The blue tiles turn to orange after the blue hexagon travels over it.

Other features include: wormholes, keys that must be retrieved to open the locks. Some tiles act as boats between 2 points.
The red tiles can only be traveled on once, after that, they disappear.
All of the images I've copied do not truly capture how cool this game is. You simply have to play it.

'Dear Traveller, Congratulations for making it thus far!  However, you still have a long path ahead. Since I need to make a living…..From now on, ads will appear at the end of every level.  You can remove all ads by unlocking Pathz (For FREE). In addition, you will gain a new Theme!'
Once you solve level 19 or 20, you will get A not from Pathz's developer. Positively love this! By the time you've gotten that far, you realize how good it is and you should reward Roy for the fun you've just had!

Level 25 was the first really hard level. I enjoyed it so much, I redid it a few times.

There are 120 levels and I've solved 88 of them. I'm guessing that took about 5 hours.
Unquestionably, Pathz will be nominated for a PAGY award. (Puzzle App Games of the Year are awarded December 31. Stay tuned.) Bravo Roy!

Lineswiper: free puzzle app game

iPhone Screenshot 2  iPhone Screenshot 4
My friend Nicola Salmoria recently tweeted about a puzzle game called Blek.   I have not played it. But it seems very similar to Lineswiper, which I have played.  The object is to draw a curvy line that will repeat and nail the colored circles while avoiding the black ones.
There are 30 levels and I managed to solve 12 of them. It's cool, it's tough and now I think it's impossible.

The stylish puzzler Blek made $2M revenue. 96% of that on iOS. Somebody still wonders why many apps are iOS only?

According to Nicola: Blek is the original and Lineswiper is one of many clones.

Kropk'i Sudoku - free puzzle app game for iphone, ipad

iPhone Screenshot 1
Kropk'i Sudoku really should be named Kropk'i Latin Square. But that's not important. Look at the first image.  See the tiny bronze dots? They signify that the 2 cells will have numbers that are x and 2x.

See the tiny silver dots? They signify that the 2 cells will have numbers x and x + 1.

Look at the second image? You can see that my time for that 'hard' level was just at 2.5 minutes.

This type of Sudoku puzzle with the silver and bronze dots has been done before, but I don't recall the name of the app. I think it's fun. But it's not a keeper for more than a week.
