LogicCity for Schools: puzzle app game for iphone, ipad

ipad levels screen updated scv
Arunima Kayath recently contacted me about her new puzzle app LogicCity for Schools.
From her webpage:
“Education is … the training of the mind to think”     Albert Einstein
That’s why we made LogicCity for Schools –  fun logic puzzles game that also build problem solving, logical thinking skills and attention.

BY EXPOSING THEM TO CHALLENGING PUZZLES
  • Most people we know who love Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics have played a lot with puzzles in their childhood
  • Solving problems builds self-esteem and independent constructive thinking
  • Problem solving skills are so in demand in modern well paid analytical jobs from engineers to architects to management professionals to bankers to scientists …
DID WE MENTION THAT IT IS FUN TO SOLVE PROBLEMS !
My observations:
1. These puzzles are a lot harder than LogicCity Jr.
2. What I particularly like is the 'not green' or 'not a square' clues.
3. Level 106 was daunting!  Every square was given a clue of 'not something'. Except for 1 cell. (I solved it.)
4. The objective is to get a Latin Square: each row must have a different color & symbol.
5. This is interesting - the last 20 levels have more of a Sudoku feel: each 2x2 corner region must also have 4 different colors & shapes.

There is an easier version called LogicCity Jr. which I reviewed earlier this year.
Chocolate Fix is also similar.
FoxMind's Meta-Forms is an outstanding set of puzzles that I believe invented this genre. The author of Meta-Forms is Michel Lyons and he is also the author of LogicCity for Schools. The author of Chocolate Fix is somebody else.

  1. I love it... Once you work your way through the levels it really starts to get interesting... the "not" squares really start to push things a bit... I am also a Chocolate Fix fan, but I think this is a bit tougher...

    Great!

  2. Now finished... If they have more hard levels as in-app purchases, I will definitely buy them! Fun stuff...

  3. Robert, I agree, they're quite fun. Definitely look into buying Metaforms from Foxmind.
