Cascadia Puzzle: very interesting mechanical puzzle
You may have noticed that I focus not so much on mechanical puzzles. The reason is that my collecting efforts have diminished in the past 2 or 3 years.
Still, there's always an interesting mechanical puzzle that combines beautiful woods into an esthetically pleasing design. Am I going to add this puzzle to my collection? Probably not because it's a level 220.127.116.11. Which means that you need 17 moves before the first piece is released, then another 7 moves to release the second piece etc.
17 moves! That seems like a lot of back and forth with guess and check. Puzzles like this are often designed via Burrtools, a computer program. Burrtools is great, but when you need that to help design it, something is lost.
